Recreation
An ideal climate makes recreation a four-season experience in Hall County from swimming, boating, tennis, golf, hiking and horseback riding to team sports including football, baseball, softball and soccer. In addition, Hall County has more parks than any county in the United States with 23 U.S. Corps of Engineers parks on Lake Lanier and another 47 parks located throughout the county.
Clarks Bridge Park on Lake Lanier hosted the rowing, canoe and kayak events for the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games and is now home to a very active Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club and the Lake Lanier Rowing Club. The park is the site of major competitions annually.
Chicopee Woods Nature Preserve, a 1,200 acre park, features miles of nature trails, the Elachee Nature Center, a wildlife garden, and numerous nature activities. The Chicopee Woods Agricultural Center hosts a number of major horse shows, dog shows and livestock shows annually.
For more action, don't miss Road Atlanta, the South's premier racetrack located just 15 minutes south of Gainesville. Stock car races are held nearby at Lanier Raceway, a 3/8 mile asphalt racing track sanctioned by NASCAR.

Healthcare
As the regional center for medical and health services, Greater Hall County enjoys a fine reputation for serving the families and citizens of northeast Georgia. Northeast Georgia Health System is a not-for-profit corporation providing excellent health care and led by volunteer boards made up of community leaders. The System serves over 20 counties with two facilities: The Northeast Georgia Medical Center and Lanier Park Campus. A total of 418-bed acute inpatient hospital service is staffed by almost 300 physicians. The Health System also offers long-term care facilities with 285 skilled nursing beds.
Located on the Main Campus of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, The Ronnie Green Heart Center offers intensive cardiac medical and surgical inpatient care to the residents of Northeast Georgia. In its first two years, The Heart Center has served approximately 10,000 coronary care inpatients and 900 cardiac surgical patients. Many of the physicians who practice at the Heart Center have been trained and practiced at the best programs in the country including the leading cardiac programs in Atlanta such as Emory, Crawford Long, Piedmont Hospital and St. Joseph's.
